AnnualCreditReport.com — The only federally authorized source for free credit reports from Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. You are entitled to one free report from each bureau per year.
File a Consumer Complaint
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) — File complaints about banks, lenders, debt collectors, and credit bureaus.
- Federal Trade Commission (FTC) — Report fraud, scams, and unfair business practices.
- Virginia Attorney General — File a consumer complaint in Virginia.
- Missouri Attorney General — File a consumer complaint in Missouri.
- D.C. Attorney General — File a consumer complaint in Washington, D.C.
Identity Theft
- IdentityTheft.gov — FTC's official identity theft reporting and recovery resource. Create a personalized recovery plan.
- Place a Fraud Alert — Contact any one of the three credit bureaus to place a fraud alert (they are required to notify the other two).
